The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit and U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended a suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Ronnie Albea. This incident occurred on August 5, 2022, in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart located at 6020 Harrison Road.

Through the course of this investigation, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators identified 20-year-old Mycco Vachion Gray as a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting. Today just before 6:00 p.m. an arrest warrant was served. Gray was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit, at a residence located in the 70 block of Short Street.

Mycco Gray was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He is charged with Murder and Hijacking of a Motor Vehicle.  Gray is currently being held without bond.

UPDATE: Arrest made in connection with Death Investigation

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended a suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Ronnie Albea.

Through the course of an investigation, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators identified an 18-year-old male individual as a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting investigation. On April 25, 2023, just before 11:00 a.m., an arrest warrant was served for Elijiah Dewayne Gray. He was apprehended without incident at a residence that is located in the 200 block of Clisby Place.

 

Elijiah Dwayne Gray was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He is charged with Murder. He is also in custody for two counts of Terroristic Threats, for an incident unrelated to this case. Elijiah Gray is currently being held without bond.

 

The investigation is still ongoing and additional arrests are pending.

Public Assistance Identifying and Locating Attempted Armed Robbery Suspects

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance for information related to an attempted armed robbery that occurred on August 5, 2022, in the parking lot of Walmart located at 6020 Harrison Rd. During this incident, 41-year-old Ronnie Albea was fatally shot.

Investigators are asking anyone who has any information about the identity of the two suspects and the suspect vehicle to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and provide whatever information you may have.

The suspects in this incident are described as two black males, being in their early twenties. One male is described as tall and slender wearing all dark clothing. The second male is described as short and heavyset wearing all dark clothing. They were last seen driving a black Volkswagen Passat.

Investigators continue to work on this incident and are committed to utilizing the full resources that law enforcement can provide to resolve this case.

Attempted Armed Robbery Investigation

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Attempted Armed Robbery that was reported to have taken place in the parking lot of the Walmart located at 6020 Harrison Road.  The incident was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 8:21 pm

It was reported that a male had been shot while in the parking lot. Witnesses stated that the victim’s fiancé was approached by two males who demanded the keys to their vehicle. The male victim identified as 41-year-old Ronnie Albea refused to give them the keys and was involved in an altercation with the two men and was shot. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance where he was later pronounced deceased. The next of kin has been notified by Coroner Leon Jones.

The suspects in this incident are described as black males, being in their early 20s. One male is described as tall and slender the second male is described as short and heavyset.

Further suspect information will be updated once it becomes available.
