The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an armed robbery that took place just before 9:00P.M this afternoon in the 600 block of Villa Crest Ave. It was reported that 39yr old Derrick Moye was in front of his house when an unknown black male approached him and demanded his wallet. There was an altercation during which Derrick was shot in the abdomen by the suspect. It was during the altercation that Derrick’s Mother, 65yr old Mamie Moye, came out of the house and was also shot by the suspect in her left forearm and abdomen. The suspect fled the scene on foot. Both Derrick and Mamie were taken to the Navicent Health Medical Center where Derrick is listed as Critical but Stable and Mamie is list as Stable.
The suspect is described as a black male, unknown age, around six feet tall and 200lbs. He was wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
