Two Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Deputies were arrested and terminated, Monday afternoon. It was reported that 27-year-old DeAngelo Devon Dixon received a phone number of an unidentified female, from an inmate who was in the corrections facility. Dixon contacted the female and met with her at a local hotel to receive oral sex for payment.
Dixon was arrested on Monday, October 05, 2015 for the charges of Solicitation of Sodomy (misdemeanor) and Violation of Oath of Office by Officer. It was determined that Dixon also violated the following Sheriff’s Office Policies, Violation of Rules, Unbecoming of an Officer, Immoral Conduct, Conformance of Laws, Oath of Office and Law Enforcement Code of Ethics Policy.
Dixon was a deputy in the corrections division of the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He was employed for approximately 3 years.
Rogers Lane Zellner, age 38, also a deputy in the corrections division of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was also arrested and terminated. It was reported that Zellner received payment from an unidentified male to pass on cellphone chargers to an inmate, who was incarcerated at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Zellner was arrested on Monday, October 05, 2015 for the charges of Trading with inmates without the consent of the warden or superintendent. It was determined that Zellner also violated the following Sheriff’s Office Policies, Violation of Rules, Unbecoming of an Officer, Conformance of Laws, Oath of Office and Law Enforcement Code of Ethics Policy.
Zellner was a deputy in the corrections division of the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. He was employed for approximately 4 years.
Dixon and Zellner had been suspended with pay since the middle of September while a criminal investigation by sheriff’s office and district attorney investigators was conducted into their inappropriate actions. A sheriff’s office internal affairs investigation identified the policies violated by the two deputies.
Based on the information brought forward by the investigations on the two deputies and the resulting policy violations, Sheriff David Davis terminated both Deputies.
Bibb Sheriff David Davis said, “It is a shame that these men decided to violate the oath they swore to uphold. Fortunately the dedicated and capable investigators from our office and the DA’s office made sure these wrongdoers were identified and arrested.”
