Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies answered a call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 5500 block of Hawkinsville Road near Macon Trailer Park, just after 6:30 p.m. Friday night.
It was reported that a Ford F-150 driven by Christopher Blevins was pulling out of Macon Trailer Park and attempting to merge into traffic southbound on Hawkinsville Road. It was reported that when Blevins turned into the turning lane he struck 51-year-old Christopher Easton who was walking in the center turning lane.
It was reported by witnesses that after Easton was struck and lying in the roadway, he was struck by other vehicles. At this time it is under investigation as to how many vehicles struck the victim.
Easton was fatally wounded and was pronounced dead on the scene by Coroner Leon Jones. The next of kin was notified by Coroner Leon Jones.
The accident is currently being investigated and no charges have been made at this time. Anyone with information about this accident is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
