Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies answered a call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on New Clinton Road at 10:37 a.m. today.
It was reported that a SUV, driven by 36-year old Lena Spencer of Macon, was traveling on New Clinton Road just before Companion Dr. It was reported that Spencer did not see the male pedestrian until he stepped out into her lane of travel and she struck him.
The pedestrian, 92-year-old Robert Woodford of Macon, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Coroner’s Office.
The accident is under investigation and no charges have been made at this time. Anyone with information about this accident is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
