The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident that took place on Log Cabin Drive, near its intersection with Sherbrooke Drive. The accident occurred at 8:42 a.m.
According to witness statements, a male driving a go-kart was traveling on Log Cabin Drive, in the right lane of travel. When it appears that he lost control of the go-kart ,veering into the left lane side swiping a Honda Civic. He then spun out of control back into the path of a Nissan Altima that was traveling behind him. He was struck head on by the vehicle.
The 36-year-old driver of the go-kart was transported to the Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance for treatment. He is listed to be in critical condition.
The driver of the Honda was not injured during the accident. The pregnant driver of the Nissan was transported to the hospital for evaluation. This incident is still under investigation.
