Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a traffic accident with injury involving a pedestrian just after 6:00AM Tuesday morning, November 17, 2015. The accident occurred on Gray Highway near Woodvalley Road.  It was reported that a white 1999 BMW Z3 was traveling southbound on Gray Highway when a female pedestrian stepped out in front of the path of the BMW and was struck. The driver of the BMW is 52 year old Zelda Williams of Haddock Georgia. The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to the Navicent Health Hospital. She is listed in critical condition and is stable at this time. The name of the pedestrian is being withheld until next of kin have been notified of the accident.

 

The accident is currently under investigation. Deputies are still on the scene and traffic in the southbound lanes of Gray Highway is being detoured around the accident site. Motorist should expect delays in traffic in this area and avoid the area if possible, taking an alternate route until the southbound lanes have been reopened.
