The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic accident that occurred just after 7:30AM this morning in the 2900 block of Vineville Avenue. It was reported that a 2003 Acura MDX SUV, driven by 20 year old Celia Asinor, of Lithia Springs Georgia,  was traveling east on Vineville Avenue in the right lane. A 1996 Mazda B2300 Pickup, driven by 42 year old Donnie Hazelrigs, of Franklin Georgia, was traveling in the east on Vineville Avenue in the center lane. A tire blew out on the Acura causing Asinor to lose control of her vehicle and strike the Mazda. After striking the Mazda, the Acura struck two utility poles. Asinor was transported to the Navicent Center for a complaint of injury. Hazelrigs was not injured. No charges were made on the accident.

Power in the area of Vineville Avenue from Kenmore Place to Pionono Avenue is out. Due to the power outage, the lane signal lights in this area are not working. Traffic on Vineville Avenue is being temporarily detoured between Speer Avenue and Pionono Avenue until the utilities poles can be replaced and power can be restored to the lane signal lights. Traffic is expected to be detoured for the remainder of the morning, possibly into the early afternoon.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office will send out a notification once the traffic in this area of Vineville Avenue has been reopened.
