The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic accident that occurred just before 4:00 p.m. this afternoon in the 3500 block of Riverside Drive. It was reported that a 2013 Ford E250 Van, driven by 53 year old Danny Bowman of Lithonia Georgia, was traveling east on Riverside Drive. A 2001 Honda Civic, driven by 19 year old David Dixon of Macon, was entering onto Riverside Drive from the driveway of the Social Security Office at 3530 Riverside Drive. The Ford Van struck the driver’s side of the Honda Civic.
Dixon was transported to the Navicent Center by ambulance for a laceration to the head. He is listed in stable condition. Bowman did not wish to be treated for a complaint of injury. The report reflected that Dixon failed to yield the right of way.
