The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic accident that occurred on Pebble Street, at its intersection with Second Street. At 4:00AM this morning a 2004 Honda Accord,  Pink in color,  driven by 29yr old Carlton Alexander of Macon was seen driving North in the 2300 block of Houston Avenue without his lights on by Bibb County Patrol Deputies. The Patrol Deputies attempted to get behind the vehicle to make a traffic stop but lost sight of it due to it not having the lights. Another Patrol Deputy spotted the vehicle on Houston Avenue near Pebble Street and attempted to stop it. The vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign on Pebble Street at Second Street and struck a black 1995 Honda Civic. The Honda Civic was driven by 43yr old John Tripp of Fort Valley.

 

Carlton Alexander was transported to the Bibb County Jail and charged with driving while license suspended revoked, disregard of traffic control device, driving without headlights at night, serious Injury by motor vehicle and driving under the influence, flee and eluding police, obstruction and open container.

  Mr. Tripp was taken to the Medical Center Navicent Health for the injuries that he received due to the accident. He is listed in stable condition at this time.
