The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic accident with injuries, involving a Macon-Bibb Fire truck and a van. The accident occurred at the intersection of Mercer University Drive at Bloomfield Road, that accident took place at around 11:38a.m.

It was reported that the Macon-Bibb Fire Department “Engine 8” fire truck was responding to an emergency call (with lights and sirens activated). As the fire truck entered the intersection of Mercer University Drive at Bloomfield Road, a van, heading west on Mercer University Drive, struck the fire struck. 

The driver of the 1992 Ford Econoline van, 64-year-old Larry Jerome Dudley, of Macon, was transported to the hospital. Dudley is reported to be in stable condition. No one else was injured during this incident.

This accident is under investigation.
