Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to a traffic accident with injuries just after 6:00PM Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred on Interstate 16 East just past Spring Street. It was reported that 40 year old Jonda Kelly of Macon was driving her 2003 Buick Mountaineer on Interstate 16 , in the left lane. She lost control of her vehicle, traveling to the left, striking the guardrail. After striking the guardrail her vehicle swerved back to the right. She over corrected the vehicle back to the left lanes causing the vehicle to flip over on its roof. During the time Kelly lost control of her vehicle, she also struck a 2010 Lexus driven by 49 year old Susan Boyd of Tennessee.
Kelly and 2 passengers in her vehicle, 40 year old Jackie Kelly Jr. and 60 year old Lawrence Stoffer, were transported to the Navicent Health Hospital to be treated for injuries received in the accident. All three are listed in good condition and stable. The wet roadway and standing water were reported to be the cause of the accident.
