Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a traffic accident with injuries just after 4:00 pm this evening on Crystal Lake Drive at Irwinton Road. It was reported that 28 year old Javarius Fleming of Macon was driving a 2011 Bluebird School Bus, owned by the Bibb County Board of Education. Fleming was traveling eastbound on Crystal Lake Drive when he activated the stop sign and lights. Fleming was struck by a 2009 Ford Focus, driven by 26 year old Eddie Lamberth of Macon. Lamberth was also traveling eastbound on Crystal Lake Drive when his vehicle struck the rear of the school bus.
There were 30 children on the school bus. Two of the students from the bus were transported to the Navicent Health by ambulance for complaint of neck and back pain. No one else was injured. According to the deputy investigating the accident, Lamberth saw the stop lights and sign activate but could not stop his vehicle. No citations have been issued at this time.
