Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a pedestrian accident with injuries on Fulton Mill Road near Clayts Circle just after 8:15 a.m. Thursday morning. It was reported that a 1998 Ford Ranger, driven by 58 year old DeJuane Parham, was traveling south on Fulton Mill Road. The pedestrian, who has not been identified at this time, was on the right side of Fulton Mill Road near Clayts Circle. As the truck continued south, the pedestrian, described as an elderly white male, darted out into the path of the truck. Parham swerved to the left, over into the northbound lane, in attempts to avoid the pedestrian but she was unable to avoid striking him.
The pedestrian was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital with serious injuries. His condition is critical. Parham was not injured in the accident.
The accident is under investigation and no charges have been made at this time. The pedestrian was also caring some type of cane or walking stick at the time of the accident.
