The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic accident with injuries that occurred on Bethel Church Road near Fulton Mill Road at 4:56 p.m.
It was reported that a Honda Accord, driven by 20-year-old Derrick Ricardo Lowe, of Lizella, was traveling east on Bethel Church Road approaching Fulton Mill Road when he lost control and went off the roadway and struck multiple trees. Lowe and his eight-month-old son were transported to the Navicent Health Medical Center for treatment. Lowe is listed in stable condition at this time, his son is listed in critical condition.
Lowe’s eight-month-old son was flown to Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta for treatment from the Navicent Health Medical Center.
The traffic accident is under investigation. Everyone is asked to avoid the area for the next few hours. Anyone with information about this accident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
