On August 25, 2020, at 12:43 p.m., Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies were checking the area of Hawkinsville Road near Spires Drive when they witnessed a black Dodge Charger speeding, while heading south on Hawkinsville Road.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, 20-year-old Tanya Layte Davis, of Macon. While talking to Davis deputies could smell a strong odor of Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle and located two handguns, several bags of Marijuana, and Methamphetamine. One of the handguns was found to have been reported stolen out of Houston County. There were two passengers with Davis at the time of the traffic stop.
Due to the area the guns and drugs were located, both 33-year-old Timothy Cortez Brown and Carton Antwain Walker, of Macon, are being charged along with Davis. While checking both Walker and Brown for contraband deputies located large amounts of money on their persons, totaling nine thousand dollars.
Davis was transported to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Possession of Marijuana Less than Ounce, Possession of Controlled Substance in Schedule I or Narcotic Schedule II, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. She is being held without bond at this time.
Walker was transported to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance in Schedule I or Narcotic Schedule II, and Possession of a Firearm the During Commission of a Felony. Walker also has a warrant out of Laurens County. He is being held on a $2,950.00 bond at this time.
Brown was transported to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Possession of Marijuana Less than Ounce, Possession of Controlled Substance in Schedule I or Narcotic Schedule II, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. Brown also has a warrant out of Monroe County. He is being held without bond at this time.
