On April 3, 2020, at 06:45 a.m., Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies arrested two Macon men for Theft by Receiving of a Vehicle and Possession of a Firearm.

Deputies responded to the Cumberland Drive area regarding two males knocking on doors and stating their vehicle was broken down. Deputies made contact with the subjects at the corner of Hyde Park Drive and Cumberland Drive near a red Dodge Charger. The subjects stated the vehicle belonged to them and that the battery died. While talking to the subjects deputies checked the vehicle and discovered that it was reported stolen on March 2, 2020.

Deputies detained the two subjects, 18-year-old Devin Cornelius Edward Howard and 18-year-old Amontreze Freeman Moss, both of Macon.

While checking Moss for weapons, deputies located a Hi-Point 9mm pistol wrapped in a bandana on his person.

Moss was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Auto, Possession of Pistol by Person Under 18 Years Old, Possession of Drug Related Objects and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. He is being held on a $13,070.00 bond at this time.

Howard was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Auto. He is being held on a $4,050.00 bond at this time.
