Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to a call of a person cut at 3601 Mercer University Drive, Macon Garden Apartments, at around 1:45PM this afternoon. Deputies found the victim, 24 year old Roger Gibson at the Macon-Bibb Fire Station located near the entrance of Macon Garden Apartments.  It was reported that Gibson had been cut several times on the left leg. Gibson and another male, Barrington Richards (aka- Jamaica), 42 years old of Macon got into a fight at the apartment complex. It was reported that the incident occurred after Gibson saw a text Richards had sent to Gibson’s girlfriend earlier in the day. 

 

After the two fought, Gibson got into his vehicle and started to leave the apartment complex. Gibson saw Richards run towards the vehicle and stopped. As Gibson was exiting the vehicle, Richards cut Gibson on the back of his left leg with what Gibson reported was a knife.  Richards left the scene before deputies arrived at the apartment complex. Gibson ran to the Macon-Bibb Fire Station located near the front entrance of Macon Garden Apartments to get help. Gibson was transported to the Navicent Center for his injuries. He is listed in stable condition. A warrant for aggravated assault has been issued for the arrest of Barrington Richards. He is a black male, 6 feet 1 inch in height and weighs approximately 150 pounds.
