The US Marshals Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force, including Investigators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office captured 32 year old Christopher Derek Simpson Friday afternoon at around 4:30p.m. in Monroe County. When the marshals and investigators attempted to stop Simpson, he rammed his vehicle into one of the marshal’s vehicles.

Simpson was taken into custody. He was taken to a local hospital to be checked for minor injuries. No one else was injured during the incident. He is charged with Theft by Deception and Violation of Probation. Simpson has been transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where he will be booked on the charges.

Public’s Assistance Locating Suspect Wanted By Bibb County Sheriff’s Office

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance locating 32 year old Christopher Derek Simpson, of Macon. Simpson has warrants for his arrest in Bibb County for Theft by Deception and a Probation Violation.

At around 12:20p.m., Thursday afternoon, the US Marshals Southeastern Regional Fugitive Task Force and Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to arrest Simpson on the warrants at a location in North Bibb. Simpson, who was driving the Budget Rental Truck and a passenger fled in the truck. The truck struck a fence in the 200 block of Manor Terrace and stopped. Both Simpson and the passenger exited the truck, running away from the scene. The passenger was located and detained for questioning. He was released later after talking with investigators. Simpson got away and has not been located.
