Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies answered a call just before 9:15 a.m. at Discount Check Cashing , located at 1411 Rocky Creek Road, in reference to an armed robbery and person shot. It was reported that the manager and an employee of the business heard noises in the ceiling and as the manager was investigating, two black males fell through the ceiling of the business.
The suspects attempted to rob the business. During the attempted robbery one of the suspects exchanged gunfire with a gentleman that was also in the store at the time, who also was armed. One suspect was transported by ambulance to the Navicent Health Hospital with a gunshot wound. His condition and identity is not available at this time. The second suspect ran from the business and escaped on foot. He is described as a black male with dreads, wearing a red sweatshirt. It is not known at this time if this suspect was struck by the gunfire.
