Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Subway Restaurant, located at 1433 Eisenhower Parkway, at around 9:15 p.m. Thursday night in reference to an armed robbery. It was reported that the black male suspect entered the restaurant, wearing an orange ski mask, gray jacket and light colored blue jeans. The suspect demanded money from the employee. The suspect had a piece of clothing covering his right hand and was possibly armed. The employee told the suspect there was no money and the suspect threatened to shoot the employee before fleeing the restaurant on foot.

As deputies were responding to the location, information on the suspect and clothing was given out by an E-911 Dispatcher to the responding deputies. The suspect was being followed by the employee at a distance, who was on the phone with another dispatcher relaying the information. A Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy located the suspect in the parking lot of a nearby business and chased the suspect on foot. The suspect ran into an abandoned house in the 1300 block of Harris Street. Two other deputies arrived at the house to assist. Deputies located the suspect, later identified as 37 year old Michael Dewayne Easley with the clothing he was wearing and a toy handgun.  He was taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigative Division to be questioned. After being questioned, Easley was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and booked on the charge. No one was injured during the incident.
