On April 3, 2019 just after 12:00 pm Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies were patrolling the area of Ibex Street and Houston Avenue when they saw a black male fail to signal when turning. They conducted a traffic stop on the Honda Accord that he was driving.
The driver of the car pulled into the back yard of a house on Ell Street and got out of the car and fled on foot. Deputies lost sight of the driver but were able to detain the passenger.
The passenger was identified as 22 year-old Jewell Denise Jones, of Macon. Deputies could smell a strong odor of Marijuana coming from both the vehicle and Jones’ person. While deputies were checking the vehicle they located a pink book bag with a revolver in it. They also located another bag that had individually bagged bags of Marijuana and six Ecstasy pills.
Jones was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance. She is being held on an $14,150.00 bond at this time.
