On November 16, 2019, at 05:46 a.m. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies were dispatched to the area of Anthony Road and Mercer University Drive regarding a person shooting at another.
Deputies were able to locate the suspect, who was in a Chevy Silverado. When deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect drove off. Deputies followed him to an address on Gledhill Street. When the suspect exited the vehicle, he refused to follow instructions and was tased, before he complied with deputies. He was identified as 46-year-old Carlos Lastan McCoy, of Macon.
It was reported that McCoy was chasing a 28-year-old female and fired shots at her as they were driving. It was stated, he was mad because she was leaving an unknown location and he wanted her to stay. When deputies did an inventory of his vehicle, they located a Smith & Wesson 38 revolver.
McCoy was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Fleeing and Eluding Police. He is being held without bond at this time.
