The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that took place just after 7:00PM this afternoon at the Best Western Inn, located at 2400 Riverside Drive. The suspect, identified as 57yr old Walter Jeon Ellison Jr., approached the clerk and displayed a gun, telling her to give him money. The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of money and Ellison left in a white Pontiac Montana van. As Ellison was leaving the motel, another employee was able to follow him and give his location to the Sheriff’s Office.
Georgia State Patrol Trooper Story was in the area and heard the call go out that the suspect was in the parking lot of Logan Roadhouse. Trooper Story was able to take Ellison into custody without incident. No one was injured during this incident. Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators were called to the scene. Ellison is being charged with armed robbery and will be taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
