During the investigation of the murder of 40 year old Prakash Patel, Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators were looking for 20 year old Antwaine Cardelle Couch of Macon, to talk with him about the murder and armed robbery of Patel that occurred at the Sunoco Gas Station at 3306 Bloomfield Drive on June 18, 2016.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies located Couch on Friday afternoon and transported him to the Criminal Investigations Division to be questioned. After being interviewed by investigators, Couch was charged with felony murder for his participation in the robbery and fatal shooting of Patel, which led to the victim’s death. Couch was transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Center and booked on the charge where he is currently being held without bond.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Armed Robbery And Fatal Shooting At Convenience Store

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of a person shot just before 1:30AM Saturday morning at 3306 Bloomfield Drive, the Sunoco Gas Station.  It was reported, when deputies arrived at the location they found a male cashier lying on the floor, behind the counter with a gunshot wound. Other people that were present when the shooting occurred were also at the scene, but were not injured.

It was reported that two armed males wearing black hoodies and bandannas over their face entered the store and demanded money from the victim. One of the males jumped over the counter and pointed silver in color handgun at the victim who is identified as 40 year old Prakash Patel. The other suspect pointed a sawed off shotgun at Patel.  During the robbery Patel was shot by one of the suspects in the lower abdomen. He was transported to the Navicent Health Hospital by ambulance, where he later died.

One suspect is described as a black male wearing a black bandanna, black hoodie, black pants, white belt, and black shoes with a white sole. The second suspect has dreads, was wearing a blue bandanna, black and blue hoodie, black pants, white under shirt, red shorts and black shoes.
