Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies made an arrest, during an attempted commercial burglary that happened Thursday morning. The incident occurred at 3:54 a.m., at the SR Grocery Store, located at 3173 Houston Avenue.

Bibb Sheriff’s deputies received a call for a burglary in progress. It was reported that an unknown individual, occupying a blue vehicle, was attempting to break into the rear of the store. As patrol deputies arrived at the store, they spotted the individual and the blue vehicle that was parked behind the business. As soon as the individual saw deputies, he attempted to flee and led deputies on a brief foot pursuit. The individual was apprehended in a wooded area near Quinlan Drive.

Deputies identified and arrested 33-year-old Marquiz Rashad Freeman in connection with this incident. Freeman was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where he is currently being held for Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony. Freeman currently does not have a bond.
