On November 20, 2019, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies arrested a Macon man for theft by taking of copper wiring from lights at Central City Park.

Deputies responded to Central City Park, 180 Willie Smokie Glover Drive, regarding a subject taking the wiring from the light poles at the park.

When deputies arrived, they found 52-year-old Frank Delone Tripp with copper wiring from the light poles. Tripp told deputies, “The people cutting grass told me I could get this copper.” No employees had given him permission to remove the wire. There was damage to several light poles, where the wiring was removed.

Tripp was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Criminal Damage to Public Property and Theft by Taking Government Property. He is being held on a $9,495.00 bond at this time.
