Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies arrested a Macon man in a stolen car. Deputies spotted a stolen Chevrolet Impala coming out of Cobble Hill Apartments at 3080 Rice Mill Road on April 4, 2019 just after 03:00am.
Deputies tried to stop the vehicle but when they activated their lights and siren the vehicle speed off. A short distance later on Pio Nono Avenue near Somerset Drive a rear tire on the vehicle blew out. The driver lost control of the vehicle and fled on foot.
The driver 17 year-old Rahkon Marketh Howard, of Macon was captured a short distance away. Howard had a small amount of Marijuana on his person. The passenger of the car was able to get away while deputies were detaining Howard.
Howard was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Theft by Taking Auto, Felony Fleeing and Eluding Police and Possession of Marijuana less than an Ounce. He is being held on an $8,450.00 at this time.
The vehicle had been reported stolen earlier at the Sunoco Gas Station at 2510 Pio Nono Avenue just after 12:00am. The owner had left the vehicle running while going into the store.
