On December 27, 2019, at 02:00 a.m. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies were checking a known drug area at 4991 Harrison Road, America’s Best Inn, when they saw a suspicious person sitting in a vehicle that was backed into a parking place.

Deputies checked the business and upon riding through the second time made contact with 30-year-old Kartrell Rashawn Sirmons, of Norcross GA, sitting in a silver Honda Civic. Deputies began talking to Sirmons and noticed that he had three phones. While they were talking deputies deployed K-9 deputy Stormi and she did a free air check around the vehicle and indicated that there were drugs inside the car.

Deputies checked the vehicle and located a mint tin with several pills inside, a black bag under the child safety seat with more pills and a Taurus 40. Cal. pistol. The pills were determined to be Ecstasy and totaled 31 pills.

Sirmons was taken to the Bibb County Jail and charged with Possession of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He is being held without bond at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751 -7500 or the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
