On August 30, 2019, at 12:41 a.m. Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were patrolling the area of the 900 block of Patterson Street when they witnessed a large party with people in the roadway. Deputies broke up the party and cleared the roads.

While deputies were clearing the area they witnessed a Kia Optima with no tag on it at the corner of Hillcrest Avenue and Birch Street. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the three occupants. The driver was identified as 42-year-old Alfonzo Stephenson, of Macon. While deputies were talking to Stephenson they noticed that the front passenger, 24-year-old Shamarco Lebraford Montavious Brown, of Macon, was acting as if he was trying to hide something.

Deputies made contact with Brown when he attempted to get out of the car, without being instructed to get out of the vehicle. Deputies noticed that Brown tried to drop something on the ground without them seeing it. When deputies checked they found multiple bags of Marijuana on the ground at the door where Brown was standing. Brown was detained along with the rear passenger, 38-year-old Teresa McCrary, of Macon, and Stephenson. Deputies searched the vehicle and found more Marijuana.

It was determined that Brown was the owner of the Marijuana and Cocaine which was found on Brown when he was searched.

Brown was taken to the Bibb County jail and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Cocaine. He is being held without bond at this time.

Stephenson was issued citations for the vehicle violations and for Being Present at a Dive and Driving While Unlicensed and released.

McCrary was issued a citation for Being Present at a Dive and released.
