On December 28, 2019, at 9:41 p.m., Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested a Macon man for an Armed Robbery attempt at the China Inn, located at 3268 Vineville Avenue.

It was determined that the suspect, 27-year-old David Deangelo Vazquez, of Macon, entered the store and pointed his firearm at the clerks and demanded money.  One of the clerks then pulled their permitted pistol and shot at Vazquez.  As Vazquez was running away, he fired at the clerks and the clerk shot back striking the Vazquez in the right leg. No one else was injured during the incident.

Vazquez showed up approximately twenty minutes later at the Navicent Health Medical Center, to be treated for a gunshot wound. He was treated for his injuries and then taken to the Bibb County Jail for Armed Robbery. He is being held without bond at this time. No charges are filed against the clerk.

MEDIA RELEASE: Commercial Armed Robbery in North Macon

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an armed robbery attempt that took place at 7:53 p.m. at 3268 Vineville Avenue, China Inn.  A male suspect entered the store brandishing a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect left on foot after one of the clerks pulled out their permitted handgun, the suspect did not get any cash. No one was injured during this incident.

The suspect is described as black male dark color clothes and white shoes with a mask covering his face.
