A Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy was in the area of Grier Street just after 5:30 p.m. Monday afternoon when he reported hearing gunshots being fired. As Deputy Sherrell approached the area of Grier Street near Neal Avenue, he saw two black males firing shots into the air. He exited his vehicle and told the male subjects to drop their weapons. Both subjects ran and Deputy Sherrell chased one of the males as they both suspects ran in different directions.
As the suspect the deputy was chasing was headed into the wood line behind an apartment, the suspect started turning towards the deputy with the gun pointing in the direction Deputy Sherrell. The deputy fired his weapon at the suspect twice. The suspect continued into the woods, running. No injuries were reported. No further information is available at this time.
