The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that took place in east Macon, early Sunday morning.
At around 2:58 a.m., deputies responded to a call of a person shot near Cowan Street and Bowman Street. When deputies arrived, it was reported that a party was taking place at a nearby house. Two females were fighting in the middle of the street and unknown suspects began to shoot their guns towards the crowd of onlookers. Two people were struck by bullets, during this incident. The party goers fled the area when the shooting took place.
A 24-year-old female victim was transported to the Navicent by ambulance. She was struck in the right shoulder area. She is currently listed to be in critical, but stable condition.
A 21-year-old male victim was taken to the Coliseum Hospital by a personal vehicle. He was struck in the right knee. He is listed to be in stable condition.
This incident is under investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
