The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who fled a patrol van while being transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
A Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy was transporting 27-year-old Telvin Vashun Smith to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Smith was being transported, after being picked up for a Violation of Probation charge.
During the transport, Smith was able to slide his handcuffed hands from the back of his body, to the front of his body. He then manipulated the van’s door lock mechanism, opened the door, and ran. Smith was last seen running in the area of Second Street and Pebble Street.
Telvin Smith was wearing a gray colored “tank top” shirt and black in color, “meshed styled” shorts. Smith is around 5 feet 7 inches in height and weighs approximately 160 lbs. He is a black male with a “low afro” hair style.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies, with the assistance from several other agencies, are in the area attempting to locate Smith.
