Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators arrested 22-year-old Dalton Lee Spires of Macon, Friday afternoon, in connection with the homicide of 17-year-old Joseph Woolfolk.
Further investigation determined that this incident involved an illegal drug transaction. Investigators are continuing to look into the events surrounding this incident. This investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
Spires was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charge of Murder and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. Spires is currently being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond.

Homicide Investigation on Winston Drive
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that was reported in the 1600 block of Winston Dr. The incident was called in just before 10:30 p.m.
It was reported that a call of a person shot came into Bibb County Sheriff Office call center. When deputies arrived on scene, they found two male victims. The deceased male identified as 17-year-old Joseph Woolfolk of Macon and a 16-year-old victim also from Macon. Woolfolk was pronounced deceased on scene and the 16-year-old was transported to the Navicent hospital to receive treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
Investigators are continuing to investigate this incident in an attempt to determine the events surrounding this incident.
The next of kin was notified by Coroner Leon Jones. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
After further investigation, it was discovered that the 16-year-old victim in this incident was also involved in the death of 17-year-old Joseph Woolfolk. The 16-year-old identified as Jieyre Chavis-Moore was taken into custody and transported to the RYDC and charged with murder. He is being charged as an adult.
