Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the old Miller School Building at 2241 Montpelier Avenue at around 12:30AM this morning in reference to a fire and assisting the Macon-Bibb Fire Department with traffic control. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has temporarily blocked off Montpelier Avenue between Pionono Avenue and Virginia Avenue, Beech Avenue from Hendley Street to Birch Street, Hendley Street from Beech Avenue to Montpelier Avenue, Ninadale Avenue at Montpelier Avenue and Madden Avenue at Montpelier Avenue. Barricades have been put in place and Bibb Sheriff’s Deputies along with EMA personnel are on the scene to help traffic safely detour around the area.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is urging all motorist to avoid this area. We will update you on information of the streets reopening as we receive it.
