The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has closed off the intersection of Mercer University at Bloomfield Drive to all vehicle traffic due to a down traffic pole that was struck by a vehicle.
Deputies and Emergency Management personnel are on scene to help traffic safely detour around the area through the Macon Mall parking lot and the Bloomfield Plaza parking lot. Georgia Power has been notified and are on the scene accessing the situation.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s office will update you on information of the road closure as we receive it from Georgia Power. We are asking motorist to avoid this area if at all possible.

Mercer University Drive at Bloomfield Drive was reopened later in the evening on December 13,2015.
