The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a “hit and run” accident, involving a pedestrian. The accident took place at 277 Walnut Street, Marathon Food Gas Station on March 6, 2019 around 3:44p.m.

It was reported that Jeffery Bruce, age 54, was bent down pumping air into his tire  when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the  vehicle put his vehicle in reverse and backing into Bruce sandwiching him between both vehicles. The driver then drove away.

Bruce was transported to the hospital and is listed to be in stable condition. No one else was injured during this incident.

This accident is under investigation.  The vehicle is possibly a brown in color Honda. The  driver of the vehicle is described as an elderly white male with a white beard ,possibly in his 70’s. The man is wearing what appears  to be a  Veteran Ball Cap.  It is possible that he does not know that he struck Mr. Bruce and not a vehicle.
