The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the two suspects involved in the commercial armed robbery that occurred at the 99 Cent Store, located at 4437 Columbus Road, Suite 103. The incident occurred just after 5:30p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016.
It was reported that 2 black males walked in the front door of the business. One of the male suspects stood by the door holding it partially open, while the second male suspect approached the counter of the business. The second suspect asked the employee for a pack of cigarettes. As the employee was getting the cigarettes, the second suspect ran around the counter, pulled a gun, pointing it at the employee and demanding the money in the register. The employee gave the second suspect the money. The suspect put the undisclosed amount of money in a blue backpack he brought in the store with him. After taking the money, the second suspect and the first suspect left the business on foot in an unknown direction. No one was injured during the incident.
The first suspect was described as wearing green colored shorts, a purple shirt and a t-shirt, or doo rag over his head. The second suspect was described as wearing a plaid long-sleeved shirt, white with red billed cap, combat boots and sunglasses.
