The Bibb Sheriff’s Office is investigating an Armed Robbery of the Family Dollar store at 3656 Jeffersonville Road. The incident occurred just before 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night.

It was reported that two suspects entered the store and demanded money from the clerks. The suspects were brandishing firearms. After taking an undisclosed amount of money, both suspects  attempted to flee the store, but encountered the responding deputy at the front door.

One suspect presented a gun and fired at the deputy; the deputy then returned fired. Both suspects fled on foot out the back door, heading in the direction of Kings Park. During this incident there was five shoppers present in the store. No one was injured in the robbery.

The suspects were described as young black males one was wearing a black pull over hoodie with his face covered. The second was wearing a gray pull over hoodie covering his face with black shorts. 

Investigators are also asking for the public’s help in identifying two people of interest. Photos are attached to this press release.
