Bibb County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies arrest a male individual in connection to a personal Armed Robbery that took place in the parking lot of the Robins Financial Credit Union, located at 2930 Riverside Drive. The incident occurred at 12:26 p.m.

It was reported that a female customer parked her vehicle in the rear parking lot of the bank. She exited her vehicle and was approached by a male individual. He grabbed her wallet and then ran to a wooded area that is located behind the bank.

Patrol deputies walked the wooded area and the neighborhood, behind the bank. Patrol deputies spotted the male walking on Victoria Circle. After a brief foot pursuit, deputies apprehended the male behind a house, located on Edward Place. Deputies also found the victim’s wallet inside of a trash can on King Alfred Drive. The wallet was returned to the victim. The female victim was not injured during this incident.

The male suspect, 55-year-old Marcello Simmons Sr., was taken to investigations to be interviewed, and he was then transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for the charge of Robbery by Snatching. Simmons does not have a bond at this time.
