The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a personal armed robbery of a motor vehicle and aggravated assault that took place in the 1100 block of Radio Drive. The incident took place at around 9:00p.m., Sunday night.
It was reported that 74 year old Herbert Dudley Sr. stopped by his son’s house. As he was attempting to get out of his vehicle, two black males, in their late teens to early 20’s, approached him and attempted to pull him out of his vehicle. Mr. Dudley’s son, 50 year old, Herbert Dudley Jr., heard the commotion and went outside, to see what was happening.
One of the suspects fired a shot towards the front door of the home, striking Herbert Dudley Jr. in the facial area. Mr. Herbert Dudley Jr. was struck with, “bird shot” from a shotgun. Mr. Herbert Dudley Jr. returned fire, towards the suspects.
As the suspects attempted to flee the scene, they struck a tree that was located in the front yard. The suspects damaged the vehicle and continued to speed off, towards Napier Avenue.
Herbert Dudley Jr. was transported to the Navicent to receive treatment for his injuries and has since been released. Herbert Dudley Sr. injured his elbow, during the scuffle and was also transported to the Navicent. He since been released from the hospital. No one else was injured during this incident.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a tan in color, 2006 Toyota Avalon. The vehicle’s license plate is ASE8139.
There is no additional suspect information at this time.
