Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Lilly Avenue at Carnation Street about a personal armed robbery just after 6:30p.m. Friday evening. Deputies met with the victim, 34 year old Ashley Jones, from Macon.
Jones told deputies he was traveling on Pansy Avenue in his silver, 2009 Chrysler 300 when he began to not feel well and stopped his vehicle. A black male, who was traveling behind him in a blue SUV stopped and asked him if he was alright. Jones started to drive off but was still not feeling well, so he stopped again and stepped out of his vehicle. A black male exited the SUV and jumped into the Chrysler 300. Jones grabbed the door handle and the unknown male told Jones to let go of the door handle, while pointing a gun at Jones. The suspect drove away in the Chrysler. A second suspect drove away in the blue SUV. Jones was checked by paramedics called to the scene. He sustained some scratches during the incident.
The tag number on the Chrysler 300 is a Georgia tag, BMF-6668. No other information on the SUV is available. One of the black male suspects was described as being possibly in his early to mid-20’s, 5 foot 6 inches in height and weighing 150 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. The second black male suspect is described as being 19 to 20 years old, 5 foot 9 inches in height and weighing around 140 pounds. No clothing description is available.
