Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies responded to Chambers Cove Drive just before 9:30PM Friday night in reference to a report of a personal armed robbery. It was reported that 31 year old Sanjay Patel had just left the Walmart Store on Harrison Road and was walking to Chambers Cove Apartments. He said as he was walking a black male who he did not know, suddenly appeared and was waving a machete at him.
The black male suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash, a gold bracelet and necklace from Patel. The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived. No further description of the suspect was available. A machete was located near the incident location and recovered by deputies. An ambulance was called to check on Patel. He did not wish to be transported to a hospital. Patel had no life threatening injuries.
