The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a traffic collision involving a pedestrian that happened in the 4800 block of Harrison Road at 8:47 p.m.

Deputies responded to the area in regards to a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle. When deputies arrived they found a female that was unresponsive in the roadway.

It was reported that a white Tahoe driven by a male driver struck the female. The male driver stopped to check on the female and then fled the scene. The driver of the Tahoe was described as a black male with a slender build, wearing a white tank top.

The female victim was transported to the Atrium Health Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The next of kin has not been notified at this time. More information will be released when it becomes available.
