The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pedestrian traffic incident that occurred at the 4700 block of Houston Road. The incident was called into Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 8:43 p.m.
It was reported that 47-year-old Tawanda Faye Willis, of Macon, was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Houston Road, from the Magnolia Court Motel , crossing the street, and heading towards the Jumbo Gas Station. The vehicle was traveling south bound on Houston Road when the collision occurred.
Willis was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office. According to Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley, the next of kin has been notified.
There are currently no charges.
