On March 2, 2020, Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol deputies responded to 54 Davis Street in regards to a report of burglary from the property owner. The property owner reported that several people were living in his vacant rental property without his permission.

When deputies arrived on scene they knocked on the back door of this location and 32-year-old Christian Jamarcus Edwards opened the door. Edwards could not provide deputies with evidence that he was renting the property and was taken into custody.

Deputies then searched the residence and found 55-year-old Rita Faye Davis inside one of the rooms. After a further search by deputies they found 22-year-old Cedrick Shermaine Davis Jr., hiding inside a closet. When deputies asked Davis why he was hiding, he advised because he had warrants. Davis’ warrants were for Violation of Probation for Bibb County.

The property owner evaluated the property and found several items missing and damaged. Belongings from all three suspects were found on the property. The property owner does not know how long they have been living there. Deputies were advised none of the suspects rented this property, or had permission to be inside of the rental property.

All three suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and charged with Burglary. The suspects do not have a bond at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Bibb Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or the Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
