The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing person.  Derwin Eric Lawson was last seen between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday night, January 8, 2014 at his home at 2578 Allan Way in Macon. He is possibly riding a red BMX type bicycle with foot pegs on the rear wheel area.

Lawson is called Eric and responds to that name. He is described as a white male, 30 years old, clean shaven with possibly some stubble and short dark hair. He is 5 foot 2 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing red sweatpants, a red Georgia Bulldog t-shirt and a red and black Atlanta Falcons winter type jacket. He has family in the Macon area. He also has a grandmother that has to make trips to the Atlanta area and he may try to go there. Eric is mentally handicapped and has the mind of a young child according to family. If approached he may appear to be frightened and run. He does take medication and has not had his medicine since yesterday. A picture of Eric is attached in this release.
