Bibb County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputies arrest a Decatur man, wanted for robbery out of Newton County. Patrol deputies were traveling north on Interstate 75 at just after 2:00p.m., Saturday. The patrol vehicle was equipped with a License Plate Reader/ Camera system. The License Plate Reader alerted deputies that a 2005 Ford Explorer, tan in color, was possibly occupied by a person wanted for a robbery that occurred in Newton County. Both vehicles were headed north, passing the Hardeman Avenue exit when the tag reader system made the alert.
The patrol unit slowed down so that they could let the suspect vehicle pass. The deputies verified the information from the tag reader system and notified other patrol units of their location. The suspect vehicle exited onto Interstate 16 and again at Spring Street. The suspects headed north on Gray Highway as deputies followed, waiting for additional patrol units to assist them in making a traffic stop. The deputies stopped the suspect vehicle on Gray Highway, near Boulevard. The driver and passenger were identified. The passenger was found to be the one who was wanted for the robbery in Newton County. The driver of the Ford was from Macon. The passenger was letting a friend drive the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop. The friend was going to pick up his vehicle from a tire store that’s located on Gray Hwy.
The passenger, Quodrayle Strazynski Hunter, age 37 from Decatur was taken into custody for several warrants. Hunter had a robbery warrant from Newton County and he also had warrants from Gwinnett, Dooly, and Walton Counties. Hunter was taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, awaiting transport to Newton County.
