The last suspect with arrest warrants in the Wings Café shooting investigation was located and arrested by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
In June of this year, a Bibb County Jury handed down special indictments on Tavarus Antwone Coney and Brinton Williams in connection to the Wing’s Café shooting that took place in December of 2014.
Williams was arrested on June 16th for 6 counts of Murder, 50 counts of Street Gang Terrorism Act, 12 counts of Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. Williams is currently being held at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center, without bond. Tavarus Antwone Coney immediately went into hiding.
The U.S Marshal’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force continued to work tirelessly to locate Coney. Through the Fugitive Task Force’s Investigation, they learned of the location of Coney’s whereabouts. At around 9:30a.m, on September 4, 2015, the task force arrested Tavarus Antwone Coney, without incident, at an associate’s house in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Coney will have to face an extradition hearing before being returned to Bibb County for the charges of Murder, Aggravated Assault, and violation of Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.
